Compliance and Admin Specialist


Burlington Housing Authority (BHA) is seeking a Compliance Specialist for our multifamily, and managed properties. The Compliance Specialist is responsible for assuring program compliance with project based rental assistance, low income housing tax credit program, and HOME Programs.

This position reviews income targeting compliance on a monthly basis, prepares the annual rent increases and files for HUD, HOME and Tax Credit reviews and audits. The Compliance Specialist also processes rent adjustments to tenant accounts, rent changes, and manages ACH withdrawals for payment of tenant rent. The Compliance Specialist works closely with the Occupancy Specialist, Property Managers, and Finance to ensure compliance with the programs.

Candidates for this position must have an Associates Degree or equivalent. At least two years of occupancy or property management experience, preferably in federally assisted housing programs, or other related experience. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of occupancy requirements for Section 8 Project-Based assistance, HOME and low-income housing tax credit programs. The candidate must have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and be sensitive to the needs of elderly, disabled and very low-income households.
