Rental Assistance Programs Manager


Burlington Housing Authority (BHA) is seeking a Rental Assistance Programs Manager (RAPM) to provide general oversight and management of Special Rental Assistance Programs and grants administered by the Burlington Housing Authority including Family Unification, Shelter Plus Care, HOPWA, RAD project-based vouchers and other rental assistance partnerships with social service agencies.

This position works closely with Rental Assistance Specialists to gather completed paperwork for voucher issuance for Family Unification Vouchers and Local Preference applicants and other Special Program participants, and with the Director of Program Compliance and Process Improvement to ensure compliance with HUD Rules, Policies and Guidelines. RAPM receives referrals from community agencies and partners for all Special Programs, and screens applicants for Special Program eligibility.

Candidates for this position must have an Associate Degree in business, Public Administration, or another related field. Formal education may be substituted by extensive previous, relevant program administration experience. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in the administration of assisted housing programs, excellent oral and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills and be sensitive to the needs of the elderly, disabled, and very low-income households.
