Burlington Housing Authority (BHA) is seeking a Controller to manage the accounting operations of the Authority. Responsibilities include preparing timely and accurate accounting records and financial reports; managing operating budgets; and maintaining a comprehensive and effective system of internal controls, all of which are designed to ensure the accuracy of BHA’s reported results, mitigate risk, and ensure that resulting financial statements comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and the U/S/ Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) requirements. The Controller hires, trains, manages, and retains skilled accounting staff.

A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting plus with three or more years of relevant experience, including managing staff is required. Controllers must possess solid communication, technology, analytical, and management skills. Candidates should possess comprehensive knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles. A background in HUD regulations and/or CPA accreditation is a plus.
