Housing Retention Program Reduces People's Risk of Losing Their Homes

"All of these people people risked losing their places to live, but workers in the Housing Retention Program at the Burlington Housing Authority stepped in to prevent that from happening."

"Its Housing Retention Program recently received $50,000 from The University of Vermont Medical Center's Community Health Improvement Fund for the 2019 fiscal year. The fund targets priority areas identified by the medical center's Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) to improve people's lives in Chittenden and Grand Isle counties."

Mayor Weinberger, Head Start, and Burlington Housing Authority Break Ground on New High-Quality Child Care Center in Old North End 

"Mayor Miro Weinberger and community leaders today broke ground on a new, high-quality child care center in the Old North End, which is the result of a collaboration between CVOEO & Champlain Valley Head Start, Burlington Housing Authority, and the City of Burlington's Early Learning Initiative (ELI). The new center will create 23 total child care spots, made up of 15 spots for children ages three to five years old in the fall of 2019 and eight additional spots for infants and toddlers in the fall of 2020."
