Do I need to live in Burlington, Vermont to qualify for rental assistance?
BHA give priority to residents of Chittenden County for certain types of rental assistance and project-based housing.

How do I apply?
You can apply by picking up an application from our main office at 65 Main Street, Burlington, VT 05401 or by downloading the application using the link at the bottom of the page. You must fill our the application completely in order to apply for rental assistance/housing.
How do I update my application?
If you wish to add a person to your household, please complete a new application and provide the social security card for that person.
If you wish to remove someone, please come to our office.
If you need to update your physical and/or mailing address, please come to our office.

How long is the waitlist?
BHA maintains several waitlists that vary in length. BHA will contact you by mail only when your name comes up on a waitlist. Annually, BHA sends a letter to confirm you are still interested in remaining on all waitlists for which you are eligible. Be sure to respond to this letter or you will be removed from all waitlists. It is critical to keep your address on file with BHA current to ensure you receive these time-sensitive notices.
