Construction Project Specialist

Currently, we’re looking for a full time (40 hours per week) Construction Project Specialist to join our dedicated team of professionals. This position performs physical condition inspections of all owned and managed properties for assessment of capital needs and housing standards compliance, coordinates small to medium sized renovation and repair projects, and assists in the development and preparation of construction project bid specifications, requests for proposals and project requirements, manuals and plans, as well as other aspects of project management.
Qualifications
- Be a high school graduate or equivalent.
- A valid driver’s license and reliable means of transportation within the greater Burlington area is required.
- Possess at least five years of experience in the field of building construction and facility operations including a good working knowledge of structural, electrical, plumbing, heating, alarm/fire protection systems, international building codes and ADA guidelines.
- Knowledge of modern methods, materials, and practices of the various trades, including carpentry, plumbing, and electrical maintenance and repair, and all phases of construction contract management.
- Possess proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, Google Apps be able to read and interpret Design Drawings, Contract Specifications and have excellent communications skills, both verbal and written, as they relate to facility management, building construction and maintenance repairs.
- Previous construction project management experience is preferred.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, excellent organizational and computer skills with an emphasis on Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat and Google Apps is a must.
- Be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, including standing, twisting, squatting and climbing stairs.
Special Requirements
Employees who are required to use their personal vehicles for work-related travel shall, at all times, have a valid driver’s license, registration, inspection sticker, and insurance, as required by state law. Employees must maintain minimum liability insurance coverage on their vehicle of $300,000.

- Operating machinery / heavy equipment and/or power tools
- Operating motor vehicles

- Assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned
